This heritage building, steeped in rich local history, is a vibrant community gathering space, providing local residents with an affordable rental facility. The Somenos Community Hall is available for rent any day of the week, for any type of function or community event, year-round. It is a non-smoking facility, and the parking lot is free. The large space can accommodate 105 people. Rental fees start as low as $25/hr, depending on the event.

Building amenities include a main hall, a bar area, kitchen facilities (two stoves, two fridges), washrooms, and a large outdoor field with an enclosed paved area.

The Hall provides ideal facilities for public meetings, weddings, birthdays, celebration-of-life ceremonies, family reunions, business and educational seminars, community services, sports and recreation activities (incl. yoga, martial arts) and youth groups. You name it, we have the space for it!

And for the history buffs, the Somenos Community Hall began in 1914 as Somenos Station School, one of the first public schools in the Cowichan Valley, and eventually became a Community Hall in the 1960s.
