Company Description

About the Club:
Tennis has been played at our club since 1887, only 13 years after the modern game of tennis was devised. Photo from Triple Knock OutWe are one of the oldest lawn tennis clubs in the wold and the oldest club in Canada still playing on grass. The club is run and maintained by a dedicated group of members and volunteers.

Playing Season:
Our playing season on the grass courts starts mid May and lasts through until mid September. Our hard courts are playable all year round - weather permitting. The annual membership fee allows members unlimited access to the courts unless they are being used for a tournament or a pre-booked event.

Tennis Facitilies:
The club has a total of 9 courts, 7 grass and 2 hard. The grass courts are maintained during the playing season on a daily basis. Mowing and line marking takes place in the morning before the club is open for play. Mixed doubles playingCourt #1 (Heritage Court) and Court #2 occupy the prime spectator spot in front of the clubhouse's large veranda, and are the 'playing fields' for many epic matches. A practice wall has being added for the 2014 season.

Clubhouse Facilities:
The clubhouse has a large lounge area with a fully licensed bar, TV and Wifi, a large kitchen as well as mens and ladies washrooms and shower/changing facilities. There is a large veranda overlooking the courts with a view out to Cowichan Bay and mountains of Saltspring island beyond. The clubhouse is surrounded by mature trees, herbaceous gardens and lawns where spectators can sit to enjoy the play or just take in the spectacular scenery and wonderful ambience.

Visitors and Guests:
Visitors may play at our club only 3 times a season. The cost for a member's guest is $20/day (per person) when playing with a member ($10/day for juniors), or for visitors or guest's playing without a member $20 per person, each time, for a maximum of 2 hours.
