This Nature Daycare is unlike any other on the Island! Set back on 4 acres of Forest land, we provide a beautiful, holistic environment enriched with the great outdoors! We have 4 programs available. All 4 run from 7 am until 5:30 pm. Monday through Friday Our Cub House is handcrafted with love and attention to detail! Every stool, chair, table, and shelf was cut, sanded, and built by Derek Biegun on-site, using the trees from the property! The tiny toilets and low windows are to encourage and invite your child! The huge skylights allow for natural light, and the built-in generator and heat pump keep the space bright, warm and self-sufficient.
Our 3 to 5 year olds have their own centre on the property (The Bear House). With 3 educators and 25 children they overlook our largest playground surrounded by trees! Custom built for this age group, this space also has vaulted ceilings, 3 toilets in a row, granite counter tops, wood floors, and a built in heat pump!
Our Bear Den is a special little cottage, snugly fitting behind the large house. This infant/toddler program provides care for 8 children. A cozy little cottage in the woods, overlooking the large field and vegetable garden!
The Spirit Bear Lodge was purchased in May, 2017 and is the home to 8 multi-age children. This MASSIVE building also has an upstairs Atelier and Art program for all the children to visit. Equipped with a kiln for drying clay, and a beautiful piano, this space is in the works to become something of wonder and amazement!
To get to the Spirit Bear, you must take a short walk through the forest path, lit with fairy lights and gnomes hiding in the trees....
