Company Description

What is the UVic Hybrid Team?

We are a group of passionate undergraduate, masters, and PhD students who annually design, build, and innovate a hybrid vehicle. Each year, our designs are put to the test in competitions that span North America and rival universities from around the world.

In the past our team has competed in:

1. EcoCAR : The NeXt Challenge
2. EcoCAR 2: Plugging Into The Future

This year, we are shifting our focus towards performance cars by competing in Formula Hybrid, which tasks us with the challenge of building a Hybrid Formula-style race car.

Building vehicles isn?t the only thing our team commits itself to. We see great value in sharing the knowledge we?ve acquired with the rest of the community. Through presentations and outreach events at local schools, we hope to inspire young minds to think critically and pursue a career in the sciences. We also introduce our local community to our designs and research by attending local events, such as summer markets and fairs.
