Disaster Grooming Experience: Unrecognizable Dogs My mom and I had our Soft-Coated Wheaten and Poodle groomed at “Groom That Dog” in Sidney, B.C. What a nightmare! Our dogs are unrecognizable. They look naked and we did not request a !!!SHAVE!!! Instead of enhancing our dogs' natural beauty, they effectively butchered their coats, leaving them looking worse than when they arrived. Our Soft-Coated Wheaten, known for her beautiful coat, now has no more than a half inch of hair except around her face.. As for our Poodle, the results are even more distressing. Instead of the elegant dog we are accustomed to, she has been shaved down so haphazardly and unevenly that she looks like a completely different breed. I took her back in before putting her in the car because long pieces of uneven hair needed to be trimmed. Janet had the gaul to say “I am so sorry” but “safety first” and "now they can start over". She charged us $120 for each dog which we regretfully paid. Our dogs are well maintained and brushed. They had a few mats but absolutely nothing justifies grooming them this way! In conclusion, our experience at “Groom That Dog” was beyond disappointing—it was traumatic. Our dogs left looking like shadows of their former selves, and we were left feeling utterly let down by the total incompetence and lack of professionalism. Save yourself and your pets from making a terrible mistake and avoid “Groom That Dog”.

I am so disappointed in the last 'groom' that I had Janet do for my dog who she has been doing since I got my pup 2 years ago. My dog was there for 5 hours & there was little grooming done. shampoo, nails, trimmed her tail, doesn't do her ears at my request) trimmed up (barely) her back end which was longer on the left side than the right, there was zero length taken off the coat, nothing off her chest area which is about 3 inches long (She i s a small dog and this hair drags on the sidewalk) Janets excuse was that if the dog owner doesn't ask they don't do... SAY WHAT. I ask what NOT TO DO and I assume it is clear to the groomer, what needs to be done. When I asked for it to be corrected, Janet was just too busy that day and the next day which she specifically asked me to come back so she could correct it... but was again too busy though I had paid 63. for the minimal work that was done. I will have to take her to another groomer to have her clipped properly.. Janets response... "That's fine, Good bye Trudy" truly disappointed in the groom & the attitude.

Groom that Dog is a great pet salon. Great play area, or quiet spaces. Grooming services are top notch.
