Central Island Powerline Ltd. was started by Dan Johnston with one crew performing local work contracts for BC Hydro, storm repairs and private hydro pole installs.

Fast forward
after exponential growth and a rebranding of the company, we are now Central Utility Services. Our operating group of companies include Central Island Powerline, Central Tel, Central Wrench, Central Island Electric, and Central Traffic Control. We are located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island since our humble beginnings in 1995.

Central Utility Services opened its second location in Langford in 2019 cementing our Vancouver Island operations. All four operating companies have branches located in both Duncan and Langford.
