More Than Just Great Fish & Chips... It's a British Experience.
Set in a Traditional Traditional Seaside Restaurant / Pub, it's Like Going to Britain Without the Airfare
A Restaurant for over 20 years it became the British Bobby in 2003. British owned it changed hands to a Canadian couple in 2007 until the current owners Mary & John St. John took it over on June 1st 2013. Back to it?s Original British Roots, John & Mary (ex-restaurant owners in England) revamped the menu to recreate the authentic tastes of all your British Favourites.
When we are busy, some people ask!
How can it take so long to make Fish & Chips? Well, let me take this opportunity to explain the reason why. Making Fish & Chips is one thing?Making ?Great? Fish & Chips is another. It needs the fish, the mixture, the timing and temperature of the oil all to be perfect, and here at The Bobby we strive hard to do just that! When we are really busy we have to cook lots of orders one after the other? and this makes the oil lose heat, so after each batch of fish, we wait and give the oil time to return to this optimum temperature before doing the next batch. This reduces any risk of saturation and ensures the crispness of the batter, and this goes double for our chips, as they are blanched at one temperature and finished at another, which is the correct way they should be cooked? Plus everything is made fresh Each Day, which all takes the time. But I am happy to say that it?s well worth the wait! So please be patient, take the time to relax, chat, play cards, have a look around and get to know us? we really do care about you, your day, you?re aches and pains and you're families? new baby etc. If you are in a hurry, speak to us and we will do what we can to speed things up. Otherwise stay as long as you like, our 'home' is your home.
Best Regards John
